AUTOTERM Flow 5D is a 5 kW water parking heater system that is designed for 12V vehicles. This compact heater has a heating capacity of 5 kW and is designed to pre-heat the engine and vehicle compartment, thus eliminating cold starts and extending the life of the engine, while working in conjunction with the car's heater fan to provide comfortable warm air to the passenger compartment during cold seasons. As the heater is connected to the vehicle's cooling system, there is no need for additional air ducts to deliver warm air to the passenger compartment. In extremely cold environments, the AUTOTERM Flow 5D heater also acts as an auxiliary heater, helping the engine to reach and automatically maintain the optimum operating temperature when needed while driving. The heater will work best for those who wish to additionally heat vehicles with an engine capacity of up to 4 litres, campervans or boats with liquid heating systems.

How does a water heater work?

Parking water heating works on a similar principle to central heating in the home, only instead of radiators in the rooms, heat is distributed through a system of pipes and radiators installed in the vehicle. AUTOTERM Flow 5D uses coolant from the engine cooling system, which is heated by a special flame heat exchanger. This system is very efficient and economical, as it uses the coolant already present in the vehicle and does not need a separate fuel tank. This makes the AUTOTERM Flow 5D water parking heater an environmentally friendly solution.

Booster heater mode

The heater can also be used in auxiliary heating mode thanks to the programmable temperature thresholds and automatic mode. Here, the cooling water temperature is automatically maintained at a high level even when the engine is running if it falls below a certain value. This value can be set between 75 and 95°C (standard: 85°C). Whether or not the electric pump runs during operation of the auxiliary heater can, of course, be programmed. The so-called standby mode allows the electric water pump to continue circulating the water, while the heater actually switches off the burner when the temperature threshold, which is adjustable between 20 and 95°C, is exceeded. If it is possible to ensure water circulation in the system by other means, the pump can also be switched off in standby mode.
