The AUTOTERM Flow 5B-12V is a small but effective 5 kW water parking heater system. It is a heater designed for use in vehicles such as cars or campervans. The heater operates on a 12V power supply and is based on a fluid heat cycle, meaning that heat is transferred to the coolant, which is pumped through a system of pipes and hoses to a heat exchanger where heat is transferred to the room air. Reliable operation at low temperatures (down to -45 ° C / -49 ° F). Low fuel consumption (max. 0.7 l / h - petrol).

Autoterm Flow 5B Benzin water parking heater

The Autoterm Flow 5D (formerly Binar 5s) Deluxe is a new water parking heater from manufacturer Autoter. The kit already includes 99% of everything needed for a basic installation.

Auxiliary heater function

The heater can also be used in auxiliary heater mode, thanks to programmable temperature thresholds and an automatic mode. Here, the cooling water temperature is automatically maintained at a high level even while the engine is running if it falls below a certain value. This value can be set between 75 and 95°C (standard: 85°C). Whether or not the electric pump operates in auxiliary heater mode can, of course, be programmed.

Standby mode

Allows the electric water pump to continue circulating water, while the heater actually switches off the burner when the temperature threshold is exceeded, adjustable between 20 and 95°C. If other measures can be taken to ensure water circulation in the system, the standby pump can also be switched off.

Switching output

It is also possible to program the water temperature at which the switching output (currently still with optional relay kit!) for the vehicle fan (ventilation/heating/air conditioning system installed in the vehicle) is activated. Switching thresholds range from 30 to 60°C, the default is programmed to 40°C.

Note

Vehicle fan control is implemented differently in each vehicle manufacturer and may require some personal initiative as the complexity of modern vehicles increases. We can only provide very limited support here, as it is obviously not possible for us to delve so deeply into the vehicle technology of different manufacturers.

Optional GSM modem

The heating can be controlled remotely via a convenient mobile phone app with an optional GSM modem. Here, start parameters such as the time and duration of the heating can be set, and the heating status can be conveniently checked.

Important

This heater has an additional switch input on the cable harness, so that you can connect your own remote control or other second control device. To do this, simply connect the two wires together using a switch or relay. This is done either permanently, in which case the heater starts up and runs until the connection is broken again, or by means of a pulse. In this case, a pulse of 0.5-3s can be used to switch on, the next pulse would switch the heater off again. The advantage of the second variant is that it is then also possible to control the heating with various operating elements - for example, switching it on using a self-built remote control or a button. The switching input is also subject to an operating time limit of 120min with the original heating software!

Installation information

The angled water outlets can be rotated by 180°. If required, additional straight outlets can be ordered instead of the angled water outlets - depending on the installation situation. All Autoterm radiators carry the E (e2) approval mark and can therefore be installed without registration.

With three freely adjustable timers for each day of the week, extended heating modes (including thermostat mode), voltage control and much more.
